One-to one relationships have always been at the heart of The Writerspace.  It is the unique combination of support and trust that cements the shared desire for success and achievement, allowing real progress to be made with whatever project is at hand.  This ethos is just as important in a learning environment and provides the foundation for Xanthe's role as a private tutor for students of GCSE and AS/A2 Level.

With over ten years experience in personal tutoring, Xanthe enjoys supporting students' development across a variety of subjects, from psychology to business studies, P.E. to Ancient History.  Her standard subject list however, comprises:
  • English Language (GCSE, AS, A2)
  • English Literature (GCSE, AS, A2)
  • Communication/Media Studies (AS, A2)
  • Mathematics (GCSE)
  • Biology (GCSE)
  • Chemistry (GCSE)
  • Physics (GCSE)
The benefits of tuition show themselves not only in increased academic achievement (on average two grades higher than predicted), but also in the emotional and social development of the individual.  As well as concentrating on the student's specific syllabus and areas of weakness, time is taken to develop learning skills and approaches to facilitate understanding and communication that are uniquely suited to the individual.  This personalised approach allows the student the maximum opportunity to learn and increase in confidence,  develop self-motivation and ultimately convince them of their strength to succeed.  The key to The Writerspace tuition is that all students should be proud of themselves and their achievements.
